South Sudan: Sanctions Threatened Against South Sudan’s Warring Parties

[Ethiopia Government]With the IGAD mediated talks on South Sudan due to resume in Addis Ababa today, Thursday (March 20), the United States, Britain, Norway and the European Union issued a joint statement on Wednesday (March 19) warning that if the South Sudan Government and any other actor tried to undermine the peace process and rebuff the IGAD heads of state, they would face consequences including targeted sanctions.
